and i feel like i feel cuz it's cold here where you left me

i have about had it with this apartment business. they waited to tell us until about 10 days before we were supposed to sign our lease that we are actually getting an apartment. then they said we had to sign our lease on the 1st without seeing if either of us could actually sign on the 1st - which by the way neither of us could. so i attempted to go down early and sign, but my proof of income was not good enough. they told me to bring down my most recent pay stub, which i did (i brought 4 of them) but since they were from summer jobs they won't work even though i will earn about $10,000 this summer and i will be working this job for the first 2 months of my lease. instead i have to hunt down my two bosses and have them write me SIGNED letters (it can't be an e-mail) that say i have been hired to work so many hours at a certain rate of pay from september until april (between my 2 jobs i'll probably be lucky to make $400 a month so this obviously isn't where rent money is coming from). so not only do i have to make a special trip down to kalamazoo and waste my gas and my day off because they aren't clear in what they want, but now i find out that even though megan has signed, if i don't sign by the 1st our lease cannot start until september 1st (classes start aug. 29th). so now i have to take a day off of work (goodbye to $125) from a job i just started a week ago. i'm seriously questioning whether i want to live somewhere that would treat it's prospective tenants this way.
